The CM Punjab Green Tractor Scheme 2024
is an initiative aimed at supporting small and medium-scale farmers by providing subsidies on the purchase of tractors. Farmers can receive a subsidy of up to 70% on small tractors and 50% on larger models, with the scheme offering 9,500 tractors for distribution. The key goal is to modernize farming practices and boost rural productivity.
Farmers with landholdings between 1 and 50 acres are eligible to apply, and the registration process is conducted online through a government portal. The application deadline is October 10, 2024. Once an application is submitted, a balloting process will determine the winners, who must then pay the remaining cost of the tractor. The tractors are delivered within a month after the payment is made, and recipients are required to keep the tractors for at least three years.
This scheme is part of broader efforts to revitalize Punjab’s agricultural sector, reduce labor-intensive farming, and promote sustainable practices.
